Motor Enclosures
Motor enclosures are specifications relating to the location of motors as outlined by the National Electric Code. Some customers have special requirements which mandate non-standard motors or controls for their application. The following information gives a detailed description of motor enclosures:

MAJOR TYPES:

T.E.F.C.: Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled.
For use in non-hazardous locations. The enclosure is designed to protect the motor from normal dust.

Explosion Proof
Class I, Groups D,F and G, Division I.

Wash-down
Wash-down motors are manufacturer certified to meet certain industry standards to resist repeated direct hose, detergent and scrubbing treatments commonly associated with food industry applications. Typically, they are finished in white epoxy however other finished may be available.

VFD Rated
Motors can be supplied rated for VFD use. this allows for speed adjustment within the allowable design range.
