Maximum
bulk density of the materials to be blended?
measured in:
|
Does
the density change during processing such as increase significantly
due to liquid addition? Please
provide details:
|
| Note:
Tumble blenders are volumetric machines, that are not rated for
a specific mass of product such as one ton. They are rated for
a specific volume of material (the working capacity from above)
at a maximum bulk density. It is not correct however to take the
maximum density time the working volume to obtain a "weight rating"
for the unit. For example if we say a 60 cubic foot (1,700 liter)
working capacity unit is rated for 62 pounds per cubic foot (1g/cc),
we can not multiply the two to say it is rated for 3,720 pounds
(1,700 Kg). The reason we can not is the next operator will have
material weighing twice as much and mistakenly decide to put in
half the volume in order to stay within the weight limitations.
|
| If
you wish to provide us with the weight, we will size the unit
according to the bulk density. |

High Sheer bar is required, choose one of the following:
Slow speed High Sheer Bar (nominal 1,650 feet per minute [503
meters per minute] blade peripheral tip speed) for breaking
up loose agglomerates, lump breaking, etc.
High
speed High Sheer Bar (nominal 3,300 feet per minute [1,006 meters
per minute] blade peripheral tip speed) for significant work
input to create intimate dispersions of minute components and
break up tight agglomerates.
Ultra high speed High Sheer Bar(nominal 5,000 feet per minute
[1,525 meters per minute] blade peripheral tip speed) for very
significant work input to create streak free dispersions of
minute components and colors. Able to break up tight agglomerates;
falls just below a mill in capability. |

Sanitary/corrosion resistant options: |

| What
external polish is required?

|
| Should
the carbon steel wrap plates on the vessel exterior near the trunnions
be clad in 304 stainless steel?
|
|
|
| Support
frame material of construction:
|
|
(If stainless, see below) |
| If
stainless, specify finish: |
| |
| Even
if the support frames are carbon steel, should the support frames
including motor(s), piping, etc. be enclosed with stainless steel
sheet metal walls?
|
|
|
| Should
only the base plate (which is bolted to the floor) of the support
frames be made of 304 stainless steel to prevent long term corrosion
as cleaning solutions seep under over the years and start to "bleed"
rust?

Electrical Ratings and Controls |
| Line
voltage available? |
|
Other:
|
| Motor
ratings required?
|
|
Other (please specify):
|
| Junction
box ratings on the machine? |
|
|
| For
explosion proof installations please specify class and division
required per NEC/NFPA or provide hazardous solvents and/or powders
involved for Gemco to suggest proper rating. |
Please
describe:
|
Electrical
ratings on the control panel (which can often be located in the
next room and rated as dust tight as opposed to explosion proof
to save cost and provide easier access)
Note: Unless the unit is shipped with a set of safety gates,
the panel will be shipped loose for remote wall installation outside
the customer supplied safety barrier. |
| Control
panel electrical rating required?

|
| Should
we add any of the following components? |
| Push
button control station (start/stop/job but not starters, transformers,
lights, maintenance timer, etc.)?
|
| Full
control panel with starters, control voltage transformer, running
lights, maintenance timer, etc.?
|

| Settable
timer for vessel rotation?
|
| Settable

| Loading
/ Unloading & Material Handling |
| Do
you load
or, unload
with drums? |
|
Are
you interested in our Gemcomatic, an automated drum loading/unloading
system built into the machine?
|
|
|
Do
you load with drums and unload into bulk hoppers
or, bins?
(We can offer drum loading system that will discharge
into hoppers).
|
| Do
you bulk load from above and bulk discharge below?
|
|
|
| Should
we provide an automatic positioning system to always stop in the
vertical up and vertical down positions?
|
|
|
| Should
we provide a flexible, retractable sleeve or boot on the discharge
valve to extend and mate with the loading/unloading port?
|
