Heating/Cooling
System
Gemco's Heating/Cooling System is a closed-loop design. Depending
on the temperature required, either water based or oil based thermal
media is used. Since the system is a closed-loop, additives such as
rust inhibitors can be added and maintained to prolong the life of
the vessel. An expansion tank is provided to minimize the need for
make-up heating media.
By using the recirculating closed-loop design, heat up and cool down
are accomplished gradually, eliminating thermal stress on the vessel.
When both heating and cooling are required, Gemco uses a parallel
configuration to minimize pressure drop and chances of vapor lock.
The components present in a Gemco Heating/Cooling System include:
- Circulation
pump
-
Heat exchanger (for steam power systems) or electric heaters
-
Cooling exchanger (if cooling is needed)
-
All necessary valves and piping
-
Temperature controller
Solvent
Recovery System
The purpose of the Solvent Recovery System is to condense solvents
liberated during the vacuum drying process so that they may be reused
or disposed of in a proper fashion. Vapors released during the drying
process are condensed and stored in a receiver tank. By reusing solvents
not only can operating costs be reduced by lowering the need for additional
solvents for subsequent batches, but the cost of disposal is drastically
reduced. For applications in which the solvent can not be reused,
the solvent collected can easily be transferred from a receiver tank
to a proper receptacle. By considering the vapors in such a fashion,
worker and environmental exposure to solvents is minimized.
The Gemco Solvent Recovery System includes:
- Solids
filter
- Condenser
- Receiver
tank
- Vacuum
pump
- All
interconnecting piping and valves
Depending
on the solvents to be condensed, Gemco can provide a number of options
such as insulated or jacketed receiver tanks, Tri-clover connections
and more. |
